The Beginnings of Bella Bars
When Nicole, the Bella Bars founder, was expecting her daughter, Bella, she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes, which inspired her to start Bella Bars. She battled several parts of her diagnosis, but her biggest battle was deciding what to eat. She needed a clean snack, low in sugar and carbs, and had just the perfect amount of protein to sustain her energy levels throughout the day. Her dietitian advised her to test a few of the available protein bars. In her opinion the bars were either chalky and dry or tasteless and flavorless. She decided to make her own protein snack bar after conducting extensive research. She believed there were many more people having the same issue. In honor of her daughter Bella, she named the bars Bella Bars.
Nicole quickly understood it wasn’t as simple as baking a cake to make a protein snack bar. She searched for food scientists to assist her in developing the dish. Her goal was a protein bar with 1g of sugar, 10g of protein, and an amazing taste. In addition, she wanted to use monk fruit rather than the synthetic sugars that many bars use. Nicole began the trial-and-error procedure to perfect the bars once she located a food scientist as passionate as she was about the project. It took 150 variations, and an entire calendar year of R&D was required to achieve the desired bars. She carried out extensive research on Bella Bars’ effects on blood sugar. According to the tests, the bars are a fantastic choice for diabetics with no effect on blood sugar levels.
Bella Bars opened in February 2020 but had to cease operations because of Covid. They didn’t start manufacturing again for another eight (8) months, but they have been in business ever since.
Bella Bars come in three varieties, the first of which is Cinnamon Roll, which tastes just like a cinnamon roll. Then, for anyone who likes a traditional breakfast treat, there is Blueberry Muffin and Lemon Pound Cake. These flavors were all influenced by the meals Nicole enjoyed eating, especially in the morning. Almond flour is the foundation of the chocolate enrobed bars. The chocolate casing comprises smooth, sugar-free white chocolate. Monk fruit, a wonderful natural source of sweetness, serves as the primary sweetener, while agave inulin is the source of fiber.
