There’s something wildly humbling about having two babies in diapers at the same time. Add a cross-continental move, language barriers, and a teething baby at 3 a.m., and you’ve got the kind of life that would make even the most Zen parent reach for emergency chocolate—and maybe a second cup of lukewarm coffee.
This was the reality for the founder of Neotein. A new mom to Irish twins who had recently relocated to Japan, she was thrown into the deep end of parenting, culture shock, and trying to stay afloat without a familiar support system. Japan, while rich in beauty, tradition, and incredible food, didn’t exactly cater to the Western wellness routine she had grown used to. The grocery aisles were unfamiliar, labels unreadable, and many “healthy” items either packed with sugar or lacking in actual nourishment.
She quickly realized that her new normal wasn’t just busy—it was exhausting.
The Missing Piece: Health, Simplified
Between nap times, rice cooker mishaps, and an endless parade of diaper changes, she began to notice how neglected her own well-being had become. Meals were rushed, hydration was forgotten, and her body felt like it was running on fumes.
She tried everything—from US protein drinks that left her bloated and jittery, to Japanese energy shots that tasted like mystery syrup. Nothing felt right. Nothing felt clean. And nothing was easy enough to fold into the kind of life that involved babies climbing furniture and spontaneous toddler tantrums.
