The Alpha and The Omega
As the Neolithic man rose out of Africa, they naturally began migrating. As with all species, hunting for food and better living conditions gave birth to this migration.
Once they hit the Mediterranean on the northern coast of Africa, it seems things took a turn – for the better. According to evolutionary scientists, man’s mental capacity began to grow. Their knowledge and insights seemed to take a giant leap forward. Bringing them closer to the version of humans you see today.
Better tools were being made, shelters, and communities. Their capacity for rational thought grew, and artwork appeared in caves along France’s southern coast. Indeed, something had changed, and until recently, there had seemed no rational explanation for this jump.
After years of study, research, and theories, many scientists agreed on a cause. A reason for this evolutionary shift. Man’s diet started to consist mainly of fish, and in this fish, there was a nutrient called omega-3.
This fantastic nutrient helped to develop Neolithic man’s brain into something much more. With more capacity for complex thoughts. More reasoning and problem-solving skills. Omega-3 helped push the envelope for human development.
Sara read this article and was a little blown away. She had known about omega-3 for some time. However, she had yet to learn what a potent source it was for change. And the more she read and researched, the more she was convinced that she needed more Omega-3 daily.
There was a drawback, of course. Fish oil is the number one source of supplemental Omega-3.
And Sara hated seafood, fish, and all things with even the slightest smell of fish. This turned her off fish oil supplements. She went so far as to try one of the “burpless” supplements. Designed, so you didn’t taste the fish oil. That didn’t go so well, she could still taste the fish, and the cost of this premium supplement was ridiculous.
Sara was at a loss about how she would get the omega-3 she knew she needed. Her sister-in-law had been banging on about the benefits to her mood and mental clarity, and even her skin was clearer and more supple.
So, she continued researching and discovered even more about the benefits of Omega-3, all backed by scientific research.
10 benefits of Omega-3
Better Sleep – Good health starts with proper sleep. Lack of proper rest can be tied to many diseases, including obesity, diabetes, and depression. Low omega-3 fatty acid levels are associated with sleep problems in children and sleep apnea in adults.
And lower levels of this nutrient have been correlated with lower levels of melatonin, the hormone that helps you fall asleep. Studies in children and adults reveal that supplementing omega-3 increases the length and quality of sleep.
Supporting Skin Health – Omega-3 contains ALA, a component of your skin health and makes up a large portion of your skin. EPA is another component found in omega-3 that benefits your skin by promoting skin hydration, protecting against premature aging, and reducing the risk of acne.
Improve Bone and Joint Health – Research shows that omega-3s may improve bone density by increasing the amount of calcium in your bones. Omega-3 may also help treat arthritis. One review of six studies showed that omega-3s helped significantly reduce joint pain in osteoarthritis patients.
Could Reduce Asthma in Children – Asthma attacks are caused by inflammation and swelling in the lungs and airways. As asthma continues to rise globally, multiple studies have linked the consumption of omega-3 with a lower risk of asthma.
May Help Prevent Mental Decline – As we age, many of us will experience a decline in our mental function. Many studies link higher omega-3 intake to decreased age-related mental decline and a reduced risk of
Reducing Inflammation – Chronic or long-term inflammation can be very damaging to your health. Inflammation can contribute to almost every chronic illness, including heart disease and cancer. Omega-3s can reduce the production of molecules and substances linked to inflammation. Study after study has proven this benefit.
Could Reduce Symptoms of Metabolic Syndrome – Metabolic syndrome is a collection of conditions, including central obesity (better known as belly fat), high blood pressure, high triglycerides, high blood sugar, and low HDL (good) cholesterol levels. So, it’s promising that many studies suggest omega-3s could help improve blood sugar levels, inflammation, and heart disease risk factors in those with these syndromes.
May Improve Eye Health – Omega-3, is a significant structural component of the retina of your eye. And it has been shown that getting enough omega-3 is linked to a reduced risk of macular degeneration.
Could Benefit Depression and Anxiety – Studies show that people who consume plenty of omega-3s are less likely to have depression. Many studies suggest that those with depression or anxiety suffer fewer symptoms while taking omega-3s.
How can you get more omega-3s?
Sara’s problem is not unique, and she knows it. And after continuing her research on the topic of omega-3s she was more convinced than ever of her need for this vital nutrient. So she began to probe the internet for non-fish sources of omega-3. She came across some information on a plant called the clary sage.
This flowering plant is native to the Mediterranean region. For as long as recorded history, it has been used to make an eye salve and is loaded with other health benefits. Among those health benefits is one of the highest concentrations of omega-3s found in nature.
Clary Sage is also the most concentrated source of phytosterols, a molecule that lowers LDL (bad cholesterol). It also contains CoQ10, a potent intracellular antioxidant essential to cardiac muscle, the brain, and your body.
What was fascinating to Sara about Clary Sage is the Alpha Linolenic Acid found in the seeds. This is the essential plant-derived Omega-3. This super plant seemed to check all the boxes she was looking for, no fishy taste, loaded with omega-3s, and the added benefit of antioxidant power.
So, Sara continued her search to find the right product, and after many visits to many sites, she settled on one that had excellent reviews and a commitment to purity.

Fabulous Product – I have taken omega 3 before and it always left a fishy taste in my mouth. I happen to be searching my Facebook page and the ad for the product popped up. So I ordered it on a whim and I am glad that I did. Not only did it not have a fishy taste but my skin seems brighter and smoother and for a 71 year old that’s great.
