The heart and soul of Olive Oil Lovers is our founder and president, Joanne Lacina. Joanne’s journey into olive oil began in her 20s when she moved to Crete and fell in love with the fresh, abundant local olive oil. This began a lifelong dedication to spreading the love for this delicious and healthy olive oil. Joanne studied all there was about olives and their harvest; her vision and expertise created a trusted bridge between consumers and the world’s finest olive oil producers.
In 2017, Joanne’s skill and dedication were recognized when she was inducted as a Member of the Register of Olive Oil Savantes, achieving a perfect score in the Olive Oil Savantes Skills Test—a first in the organization’s history. This praise highlights her exceptional tasting abilities and commitment to promoting high-quality olive oil.
As an American who didn’t grow up in the traditional olive-growing regions, Joanne’s unique path into the olive oil sector has given her an unbiased and finely tuned palate. She made it her mission to combat fraud and to provide authentic olive oil to the American community. She turned a local brand into a trusty one with her hard work.
