Before Sarah Neyhart was thinking about minerals, beetroot and replenishment, she was thinking about movie posters.
Designing movie posters for some of the biggest names in entertainment probably sounds like the kind of career that people would envy. But for Sarah, it was a reality.
She worked as an independent creative director and art director, with work appearing across projects for HBO, Sony, A24, Hulu, Amazon, Lionsgate, OWN, Harpo Entertainment, and more. This kind of work is fast-paced, creative, and exciting. But the entertainment industry can also demand a great deal from the people working within it.
Eventually, Neyhart’s body began paying the price.
She went through a period where she faced several health struggles and was eventually told by a team of doctors that she was experiencing severe burnout with physical symptoms. The situation became so serious that she lost her periods and had to take a step back from work. This time of her life completely changed the way that she thought about well-being.
Instead of viewing health as something that only fits into the gaps that life leaves open, Neyhart began to think about what health might look like when you actually make replenishment part of your everyday routine.
During the 2023 actors’ and writers’ strike, there was a lot of uncertainty within the entertainment landscape. This gave Neyhart yet another reason to reconsider what she wanted for her own future. And this was when an idea began to take shape.

The Formula Was Only Half the Battle
This is where BePlenish takes the stage. This brand was created on the simple idea that sometimes another complex routine is not what’s needed. Sometimes people just need something that is simple enough to fit into their everyday life.
The goal was to create a routine that focused on replenishment instead of offering yet another performance-oriented product. The original idea was a lot more specific, though. She had a vision of creating a mineral drink that was designed with menstruating women in mind and combined iron and other nutrients involved in normal blood health with hydration minerals and magnesium.
Then, she faced a problem.
Mineral drinks don’t necessarily have the best reputation when it comes to being something exciting to reach for. Once beetroot is added to the mix, the undeniable earthy flavor can make it even less appealing, turning a simple mineral drink into a real struggle for some people to stomach.
Creating a beetroot drink that people would genuinely want to reach for became part of the challenge.
She decided that the best way forward was to flip the approach. Instead of handing her idea over to a manufacturer and waiting for the finished product, she decided to bring ingredient suggestions and flavor concepts to the formulation team. She ventured to the manufacturing facility herself and worked with her team throughout every stage of the process: testing, tasting, and refinement.
The things that she truly cared about were flavor, color, ingredient quality, and drinking experience.
If you’ve ever opened a supplement expecting something refreshing and been met with something that tastes utterly bitter, then you understand why taste matters. The difference between something sitting untouched in your house and something that slowly becomes something that you use every day can boil down to whether or not you actually enjoy taking it.
That process changed the trajectory of the business. It started as a targeted concept and eventually turned into a replenishment-focused mineral platform, with their first product bringing together several elements in one single daily drink.

Three Layers of Something Better
BeVital is a replenishment drink within the BePlenish range. It brings together iron for normal red blood cell formation, minerals associated with hydration, and magnesium and L-theanine in a single formula.
At the center of the formulation is 20 mg of iron, providing approximately 110% of the Daily Value and supporting the body’s normal red blood cell formation. Beetroot adds naturally occurring nitrates and other plant compounds, making beetroot a central part of the formula.
The blend also includes coconut water, pink Himalayan salt, potassium, and magnesium glycinate to create a mineral-rich, hydration-focused profile. L-theanine, an amino acid naturally found in tea, rounds out the formulation.
For flavor, blueberry and beetroot come together in the Solar Berry blend, balancing beetroot’s earthy notes with a brighter fruit taste. Monk fruit adds sweetness without added sugar, keeping the finished drink light and approachable.
Instead of offering an earthy, dirt-like taste, the drink is described as having a bright and refreshing flavor profile. The blueberry adds a sweet fruitiness, while the coconut water and pink salt work to round out the flavor.

The Not-So-Boring Beet
Beetroot might seem like an unexpected foundation for a daily drink, but its nutritional profile has attracted considerable scientific interest. A 2021 review published in Foods looked at the current research that surrounds beetroot’s bioactive compounds, with specific attention to nitrate and betalains.
The research specifically looked at beetroot-derived nitrate. A systematic review and meta-analysis published in the European Journal of Nutrition looked at randomized controlled trials that involved nitrate or beetroot supplementation. These trials have reported associations with improvements in certain measures of vascular function, although results can vary depending on the study and supplementation approach.
This doesn’t mean that every product that contains beetroot will produce the same outcome. It also doesn’t mean that this drink should be viewed as a treatment. Instead, the research explains why beetroot has become such an interesting ingredient in nutritional products, and it’s got very little to do with the color.
Importantly, research on beetroot or beetroot-derived compounds does not establish that this particular finished product will produce the same effects. For BePlenish, the challenge was making the ingredients something that people actually want to drink.
A Pause You Can Actually Keep
The most interesting part of Neyhart’s story is that her answer didn’t involve another complicated routine. It came from looking honestly at how people actually move through their days. Between work, exercise, travel, family, deadlines, and everything else competing for attention, even the most well-intentioned wellness habit can become one more thing to manage.
That perspective shaped BePlenish. Rather than creating something that required people to completely rethink their routines, Neyhart focused on making replenishment easier to work into the ones they already had. A drink could be mixed in the morning, packed for the day, or simply kept nearby for a moment when it made sense.
Perhaps that’s the more interesting lesson in her journey. Wellness doesn’t always need to arrive as a new schedule, a complicated protocol, or another item on an already crowded list. Sometimes the better approach is to create something that meets people where they are.
For Neyhart, that meant taking an idea born from a demanding career and turning it into a daily ritual designed around real life. The beetroot may be what catches the eye, but the bigger idea is simpler: replenishment works better when it is something you can actually keep.
