Menopause can be a very difficult time for women- no question about it! The important thing to remember is that you are not alone; there is help, guidance, and support through the right channels that can help to ease symptoms. Menopause will affect women differently- and at varying ages, some may seem to sail through the transition, while others suffer intense and confusing symptoms. Hormonal changes are a minefield, you never know quite how and where it is going to hit you.
Some women may suffer more emotional symptoms such as anger, frustration, and depression. Others may experience a range of physical symptoms that are not always easy to address. The likelihood is that most women will be challenged with emotional, mental and physical symptoms that create turmoil within the body.
That being said, as mentioned above, there is help available! There are more natural products on the market now that can help to relieve the symptoms of menopause so women are not solely reliant on hormone replacement therapy to see them through. These natural products are helping to empower feminine health!

Empowering Feminine Health
Looking at menopausal women, there is not much spoken or heard of in terms of vaginal atrophy. This condition affects most postmenopausal women, and especially cancer survivors. The main symptoms of vaginal atrophy include dryness, painful sex and feeling unable to be intimate. Today, vaginal atrophy is treated predominantly with estrogen, but it can pose a cancer risk. Many women, especially cancer survivors and those with uterine fibroids and clotting problems cannot use estrogen. All in all, if symptoms are not dealt with, these women inadvertently have a decreased quality of life.
Alongside vaginal atrophy, bacterial vaginosis (BV) affects nearly all women after puberty. Major symptoms may include a fishy odor and discharge. Having BV can increase the risk of sexually transmitted infections, cervical cancer, and negative pregnancy outcomes, such as miscarriage or a birth defect. Through conventional means, BV is treated with antibiotics, but they are often not effective, especially for cases of recurrent BV. The most common self-treatment is douching, but research has found that douching can only transiently clear the odor. Soon after douching, it is highly possible that a more severe case of BV returns. Taking too many antibiotics can also create further issues within the gut, creating an imbalance of “good” and “bad” bacteria.
