Vitamins, supplements, skin creams, conditioners, oils, the list just seems to be endless. They tell you that there’s something new and special that you need today, it’s new and innovative, (of course it’s something you’ve never heard of), and you absolutely can’t achieve your health goals without it! Sounds familiar right? That’s because we’ve all been there.

Medical technology and pharmaceuticals have indeed come a long way, and we should be absolutely grateful for that. Humanity’s advancement in the human health field is one of the main reasons the average person in the Western world today lives almost twice as long as one might have a hundred years ago. Despite all the claims of deteriorating health thanks to junk food and pollution, humanity is, by and large, much healthier than we’ve been for the majority of our existence. Our species is not only living longer, but we’re also stronger, taller, faster, and less prone to illness than we were just a few centuries ago.

But like every technological advancement, we need to be careful. With how far we’ve come, we now walk a fine line between being in prime health, thanks to increasingly powerful supplements and medications, and being overly reliant on these to the point that we’ve removed many of the body’s precious natural functions and capabilities.

Walking this fine line isn’t easy, especially in today’s smartphone age, when you’re constantly bombarded with clickbait trying to sell you on yet another “all natural” supplement. When so many brands are promising unbelievable, instant results, often without any effort, what can you believe? Can they all really be telling the truth, and how would we know?
